There are many allegorical representations in The Wizard of Oz. Every character in the story represents something or someone else. The cowardly lion is a pun in itself because a lion is supposed to be feirce and brave and the cowardly lion is none of that. This means that things are not as they seem and you shouldn’t jugdge people on their apperance. The yellow-brick road is a representation of life and the journey you make with curves and obsticles. The wicked witch of the east represents all the possible bad things that could happen during your journey on the yellow-brick road (life). The rubby red slippers are a power source for Dorothy to get her home while she had the power to go home the whole time. this power is the will power people have within themselfs. There are many lessons to be learned from The Wizard of Oz.

Hamlet

I really liked this picture of Hamlet, Horatio, Marcellus, and the ghost of old King Hamlet. I think it represents the theme of Hamlet in that throughout the play, Hamlet has many decisions to make and while some people hold him back and try to influence him, the decision is still his to make. Hamlet seeing his father’s ghost begins the whole story, therefor this picture is a great representaion of the tragedy.

There are many different superstitions about ghosts in the English Renaissance. They believed that the devil could transform himself into an angel of light and couldn’t do any thing without God’s permission. They also believe demons could punish sinners and non-believers of God with God’s permission. They believed that ghosts that are good appear to comfort the living. They also could relate superstitions to a witches sneezing, a seventh son, peacock feathers, some shoes, spilling the salt or pepper, touching wood, going under ladders and black cats.

There are many superstitions about ghosts today. To protect yourself from ghosts, people follow these old time remedies: Carry some bread in your pocket when your walking in the dark so serve as an offering to the ghost, if you actually see the ghost, wlak around it nine times and it will dissapear and if you can’t walk around it nine times, crow like a rooster to scare it away, and many more. My particular family has no superstitions about ghosts.

The Tower of London is one of the most haunted and well preserved buildings of the time. People believe this to be true because of the countless numbers of murders, executions, and tortures that have happened here for the past 1,000 years. There have been very many ghost sightings here, one in particular in 1957 on February 12, when a guard discovered a white, shapeless figure on top the tower. It had been that exact same day when Lady Jane Grey was beheaded in 1554.

People has been fascinated with ghosts for years. There is so much proof of ghosts existance yet not enough. Ghost experts spend their whole lives trying to prove ghosts to be real but none have prevailed. I think that’s why so many people study ghosts today.

How I feel about blogging….Well, I’ve never really blogged before. I’ve blogged on myspace before but to blog for a class assignment….It’s pretty cool….I think this will be a good experiance for our class, and i look forward to blogging….Blogging….lol, what a funny word…..
